Working Well to support employers and employees

Working Well East Midlands is a free service that helps buinsesses reduce long-term sickness absence and retain valued employees. The service provides bespoke one-to-one support to enable staff to remain in work or return successfully after a period of ill health.

Dedicated employment specialists work in partnership with both employers and employees to identify practical solutions that promote productivity, wellbeing, and long-term success.

This person-centred approach includes:

  • Collaborative problem-solving to address workplace barriers

  • Career planning and progression support

  • Advice on implementing reasonable adjustments

  • Guidance on benefits and entitlements

  • Co-designed support plans tailored to individual needs

  • Access to wellbeing resources, coping strategies, and mental health tools

  • Identification of relevant training opportunities for staff or management

  • Structured three-way reviews involving the employee, employer, and specialist

  • Liaison with healthcare professionals to ensure health needs are prioritised

  • Ongoing expert advice and guidance throughout the process
